Halloween Nails - Sunday Stamping Challenge

Today's Sunday stamping challenge from Adventures in Stamping is HALLOWEEN.
I had just received some super nail mail which included 3 polishes from Julep.  The 3 colors happen to be the same colors as candy corn so I figured I would try to do my base to look like the infamous Halloween candy staple.  I started with 2 coats of Julep Nicolette.  After that was dry I used an eyeshadow applicator and dabbed on Julep Karen near the cuticle end and followed that by painting on a line of Julep Leila in the middle of each nail and used an eyeshadow applicator to create a gradient.  I then put on a top coat of HK Girl.  When all was dry sufficiently I stamped my images with Milani B lack Swift using Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 - Happy Holidays.

To tie my toes in to the look (I live in FL so my toes are almost always showing) I painted them with Julep Karen and used some Halloween themed water decals that came as a freebie with my Julep nail mail.

List of colors used:
Julep - Nicolette (white)
Julep - Karen (orange)
Julep - Leila (yellow)
Milani - Black Swift

Overall I am very pleased with how these came out.  :)

My Waterfall Atempt

I follow A LOT of nail art related blogs... One of which is The Nailasaurus.  She does this very cool looking waterfall mani and this is my attempt at that look.

Colors used:
Essie - Under Where? (Base color)
Julep - Missy (silver)
Julep - Julianne (blue)
Julep - Nicolette (white)
Wet 'N Wild - Disturbia (purple)

I used striping brushes to put on the various colors and topped it all of with a coat of HK girl.
It is not nearly as good as what The Nailasaurus can do but I think it's pretty.  :)

Hmmmm... Not so good

This is neither my best stamping nor my best clean up job... But it is what it is...

My base color is Essie "Full Steam Ahead" stamped with Sally Hansen "Lickety-Split Lime" using Gals plate # GA17

My new vow to you is to never again post a mani that has not been properly cleaned up... This shall be the last hot mess!!

Work Appropriate Nails

Hi there... I am off on another business trip this week which means I need to have work appropriate nails.  I will be heading off to our branch in Greensboro, NC... I love North Carolina, it is so beautiful.

For my fingernails I used OPI's "Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey" and on my toes I used Zoya's "Flynn"... Both were topped off with Glisten & Glow's HK Girl.

I am not thrilled with the color on my nails... I hate when you can see the brush strokes, but it will do for work.  I will immediately take it off when I get back Wednesday night. I have big plans for purple when I get home.  LOL!!

I tend to like a darker color on my toes and a lighter shade in the same color family on my fingers.
I love how creamy the Zoya Cashmere collection polishes are (toes).

I am looking forward to this Sunday's stamping challenge which I believe is going to be Halloween theme.... Lots to think about.  What color(s)... What stamping plate(s)...

Until next time...

Sunday Stamping - Over a Holo Base

Happy Sunday!!  Today I am participating in The Adventures in Stamping Sunday stamping challenge... Stamp over a holo base.  I started with 2 coats of Models Own "Gold Rush" then I stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Pronto Purple" using Cheeky Jumbo Plate #3 - European Romance.  As always, I finished it off with Glisten & Glow's HK Girl top coat.

Now I have to go remove it since I have another business trip tomorrow and will have to wear a work appropriate mani.  Until next time...

October

Here Is another pink related mani.  I was completely just messing around... By far not the cleanest or best thing I've ever done.  I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen growth Miracle "Hibiscus".  Stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Wined Up" which I also used for the dots and ribbon.  The stamping plate is Cheeky Jumbo 6.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Happy Saturday!!  Today I wanted to use 2 of my new untried polishes and came up with what I am calling my Breakfast at Tiffany's mani... Since one of the colors used is Finger Paint's "Tiffany Imposter" and the other color for my accent finger, Julep "Missy" looks like BLING!!  I love the iconic Tiffany blue boxes so I was very happy to find this color.    I used 2 coats of both colors topped off with my trusty HK Girl top coat.

I love this color!!  Alas, I have a bunch more untrieds so this won't stay on long.
Have a great weekend!!  Until next time...
