You're Such a Budapest (feet warning! LOL!)

Sooooooo... I had the world's best Groupon... A mani-pedi at a salon for $15!!!!   I had not heard of the salon but when I google mapped it... It showed 3.7 miles away from my house... Bonus!!   I bought 1 for me and 1 for my daughter.  She was leaving on vacation with her husband and daughter for 3 weeks so I figured this would be a nice girly thing for us to do together before they left.

We went yesterday and brought our own colors with us.  My daughter Devon wanted something Halloween-ish.   I forget what the name of her color is... But it is from Sinful Colors.  She did not want the pedi so we upgraded to French manis.  ***** correction... Daughter just let me know it is Sinful Colors "Clementine" ****

We had a nice, relaxing time... Really pretty salon (Alemar Salon Spa in Orlando)

I am leaving on a business trip tomorrow so I needed work appropriate nails.  I would have loved to have done the Adventure's in Stamping Sunday challenge this week (stamping over a black base) but alas, work prevails.

Needless to say, I will not have any new nail art for you for another week or so... Until then... Enjoy the week!!

"Pink" Friday

For October I am trying to do all manis with pink involved for breast cancer awareness.  Today was also "pink Friday" at work.   My thought was to try an ombré look.  I only have a certain amount of pinks in my polish collection so I did the best that I could with what I have.

The colors I used are:

Thumb = Butter London - Primrose Hill Picnic

Index = Wet N Wild - Candy-Licious

Middle = Butter London - Fruit Machine

Ring = Models Own - Strawberry Tart

Pinky = Essence -  ???

All nails have 1 coat of Wet N Wild sparkles on top and finished with a top coat of my beloved HK Girl.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For the month of October I have decided that each of my manis will incorporate pink somehow for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I had some decals from The Born Pretty Store that I had yet to try so I wanted to use those today.  They were super easy to do... Well worth the whopping $1.99 that I believe I paid for them.  On my pinky and thumb I have 2 coats of Models Own Strawberry Tart and then topped that with 2 coats of Nail Treats Confetti Splash.  My other fingers have 3 coats of Wet 'N Wild Shine (don't know the name of the color), then I applied the water decals as instructed followed with a coat of G&G HK Girl top coat (the holy grail of top coats).

Revlon Dominate

Hello there... Here's a quick and dirty mani for you... Just wanted to try out an unused polish... Revlon Dominate.  Again my pictures are not doing justice.  I am going to invest in a camera very soon.  Dominate looks almost black here but it is actually a dark, rich, chocolate brown.  I was on the hunt for Zoya Louise one day and couldn't find it and this was the closest to that color that I could find.  Typically I am not a huge fan of dark colors on my fingernails... I usually do dark on my toenails and a lighter shade of the same color family on my fingernails.  However, I also had some unused gold glitter from E.L.F. that I thought would go good with them brown on my nails.  What do you think?

Weekend Mani - experimenting

I am very excited about what I did here but I totally have to get a camera instead of taking pics with my phone or IPad.  The pics here don't do it justice.

I started with 3 coats of a polish I go at Victoria's Secret Pink called "White Hot".  I then stamped polka dots using plate # KD3 with Julep "Marion".  Julep Marion was the inspiration for this mani as it is the color I used to paint my toes.  I got it in one of my most recent Julep Maven boxes and had not tried it yet.  I then used my dotting tools and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear "Celeb City" to add more dots.  I had also never tried my striping tape yet so I wanted to work that in somehow and started taping in diagonals on each nail thinking I would paint Marion on the bottom and Celeb City on the top then take the tape off.  Then I thought instead of that I would try to leave it on and used an eyeshadow applicator to add Celeb City to both the top and bottom.  I loved how this turned out... I was so proud of myself!  LOL!!!  It is killing me that I can't get the photos to really show how great it looks... Must invest in a camera.

Lazy last minute mani

Hello there!  I wanted to change up my polish the other day because I had some chipping on my thumb nail.  I did want to incorporate the purple polish I got in Paris though since I love it so much and my toes were painted in that color.   I like the combo of purple and yellow so figured I would do all of my nails in the purple and stamp on some yellow flowers using one of the new "Gals" plates I just got.  I had a horrific time trying to stamp the images so I decided to just do a couple of accent nails.  Then it looked like it needed something extra so on the other nails I did 1 top coat of Zoya Maria Luisa.  Needless to say I was not thrilled with how it came out and I have already taken it off... Back to the drawing board...

I stamped with an image from Gals GA22 using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Butter-Fly Stroke.

I already re-did my toes with Julep Marion... So now trying to figure out a mani that will go with that color... Stay tuned!  :)

I'm back!

I am back from my trip to Paris... Trip of a lifetime... It was wonderful!!!  It did rain pretty much every day though.  The weather did not deter us from any of our plans so we still enjoyed to the fullest.

So I did of course buy 1 polish while I was over there and I really love it... But I really only bought it because it had the Eiffel Tower on it. LOL!!!  Imagine my surprise when it also turned out to be a gorgeous color and a great formula!  :)

I also wanted to use another new unused polish which is Essie Cocktail Bling.  I decided to try a dotticure.  I used Cocktail Bling on most nails and my purple polish from Paris (say that 10 times fast!) as an accent nail.  Then I used my dotting tools to put dots in the opposite color along one side of each nail.  To add a little more color and to tie it all in I also used Zoya Blu to add some dots on each nail.  I need to get better with using the dotting tools but I think it came out ok.
